Steven Hutt, executive director of the Denver Employees Retirement Plan, will retire effective Nov. 1, said Randy Baum, chief investment officer of the $2.2 billion pension fund, in an email.
Mr. Hutt has been executive director since 2004.
"It's impossible to overstate how much the board appreciates Steve's expertise, guidance and hard work on behalf of Denver's employees and retirees," said retirement board Chairman Eric Rothaus in the announcement. "He has been tireless in his efforts. In light of the length and quality of Steve's service, his retirement is well-deserved."
The board will meet later this month to begin searching for a replacement.
