Michael Pratten was named interim CIO at London CIV, a spokeswoman said.
It could not immediately be learned whom Mr. Pratten replaced. Previous CIO Julian Pendock left the £14 billion ($18 billion) asset pool consisting of 32 local authority pension funds of the London boroughs in January 2011.
Mr. Pratten previously was CIO of Conopius, a re-insurance firm. Prior to that, he was CIO and managing director at Coal Pension Trustees Services, which manages the £21 billion in assets of behalf of the Mineworkers' Pension Scheme and British Coal Staff Superannuation Scheme.
