Boston Retirement System committed $30 million to HarbourVest Credit Opportunities Fund II, a private debt fund managed by HarbourVest Partners, recently released minutes from the $5 billion pension fund's March 27 board meeting show.
The pension fund previously committed $30 million to another private debt fund manager, THL Credit Advisors, in February.
The pension fund issued an RFP in October looking to allocate a total of $117 million to three closed-end private markets funds: an energy-focused fund, a special situations/turnaround fund and a private debt fund.
NEPC, the plan's investment consultant, assisted with the search.
Capital IP Opportunities Fund, managed by Capital IP Investment Partners, was the other finalist.
John Kelly, the pension fund's investment analyst, and Kiley Fischer, an analyst at NEPC, could not be immediately reached for comment.
