Pablo Bernengo was named CIO at AP3, Stockholm, the 340.7 billion Swedish kronor ($35.4 billion) pension fund said in a statement Wednesday.
Mr. Bernengo will start in November and will take over from acting CIO Kerim Kaskal. Mr. Kaskal was named acting CIO in August, following the death of former CIO Marten Lindeborg after a short illness.
"I look forward to working with (Mr.) Bernengo in taking AP3 forward. (He) is an experienced leader with in-depth expertise in asset management," said CEO Kerstin Hessius said in a news release.
Mr. Bernengo is CEO of money management firm Ohman Fonder. Details of his replacement could not be learned.
