Beatrix Anton-Groenemeyer was named chief sustainability officer at Allianz Global Investors, company spokeswoman Robin Pertusi confirmed.
The position is new. Ms. Anton-Groenemeyer will oversee the firm's environmental, social and governance and sustainability efforts and initiatives. She will report to AllianzGI CEO Andreas Utermann.
Ms. Anton-Groenemeyer is global head of product specialists for fixed income at AllianzGI and will continue in the role during a transition period.
AllianzGI managed more than $601 billion in assets globally.
