Thomas Hanson was named head of high yield at Kames Capital, a spokesman confirmed in an email.
Based in Edinburgh, he will replace David Ennett, who left in November to join Artemis Investment Management as a fund manager, fixed income. Since Mr. Ennett's departure, Adrian Hull, head of fixed income, has been overseeing the team.
Mr. Hanson is expected to join Kames Capital before the end of the second quarter and will report to Mr. Hull.
He was previously a high-yield credit portfolio manager at Janus Henderson Investors, where he co-managed the Janus Henderson Euro High Yield and Janus Henderson Global High Yield funds. A Janus Henderson spokesman confirmed Mr. Hanson's departure following the reduction of the global credit team to six from eight managers.
Kames Capital has about $47 billion in assets under management.
