William Royer was named managing director and chief compliance officer at alternatives money manager HarbourVest Partners, spokesman Andrew Hopkins said in an email.
Mr. Royer joined the firm as managing director Wednesday and will take on the responsibilities of chief compliance officer in early June. In the latter position, he will replace Danielle Green, who informed the firm in April of her pending departure and is staying on with the firm until June to ensure a smooth transition, Mr. Hopkins said. Ms. Green's future plans were not provided.
Mr. Royer was previously chief compliance officer at Vanguard Group. Vanguard spokeswoman Emily Farrell would not comment on Mr. Royer but said Vanguard's current chief compliance officer is John Schadl.
HarbourVest Partners has about $58 billion in assets under management.
