Sharmila Chatterjee Kassam, deputy chief investment officer of Texas Employees Retirement System, will leave the $29.6 billion fund.
Ms. Kassam did not respond Wednesday to an email request for more information about her plans and when she intends to leave the Austin-based fund.
Texas Employees spokeswoman Mary Jane Wardlow confirmed Ms. Kassam's departure. "The position is in transition," Ms. Wardlow said in an email, adding that she could not comment further about personnel matters.
Ms. Kassam joined ERS in 2004 as assistant general counsel of investments and securities and was named chief of staff in 2012. She assumed the role of deputy CIO in 2014.
