Ottawa County, West Olive, Mich., hired Plante Moran as the first investment consultant for its 401(a) and 457 plans, said Amy Bodbyl-Mast, county purchasing manager, in an email.
The county issued an RFP in January for its first consultant to "conduct a comprehensive review and needs assessment of the county's existing 401(a) and 457 retirement plans, providers, investment policies, objectives and portfolio structure," according to the RFP.
A total of seven firms submitted proposals; there were no other finalists.
The 457 plan has more than $53 million in assets; 401(a) plan asset information was not available.
