Dave Barratt was named senior consultant on the risk settlement team at Aon, a spokesman said.
The position is new. Mr. Barratt provides expertise and guidance to pension funds going through the risk transfer process.
"(Mr.) Barratt joins us with an excellent background in the bulk annuity market, including some landmark transactions," said Martin Bird, senior partner and head of risk settlement, in a news release. "He has advised a very wide range of trustees and sponsoring employers on settling liabilities with insurers," especially those in the less than £100 million ($129 million) range.
Mr. Barratt was previously a senior consultant at JLT Employee Benefits. Details about his replacement could not be learned.
