Michael Grippi joined Mesirow Financial's direct real estate group as managing director on April 30.
In this new position, Mr. Grippi specializes in acquisitions and is based in the firm's Denver office. He reports to Alasdair R.J. Cripps, the unit's CEO and co-chief investment officer, confirmed Nancy Gonzales, a Mesirow spokeswoman, in an email.
"Mike will play a strategic role in the continued success of our business, particularly around enhancing our acquisition process," Mr. Cripps said in a news release. "His presence in Denver will provide us with additional opportunities locally as well as nationwide."
Mr. Grippi was vice president of investments at Forum Real Estate Group. Information about his replacement there could not be learned.
Mesirow Financial managed a total of $29.4 billion as of March 31, of which $2.6 billion is invested in real estate. Mesirow also ran $88.5 billion in currency risk management strategies and had $34.5 billion of assets under advisement as of the same date.
