Brunno Maradei was named global head of environmental, social and governance at Aegon Asset Management, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. Mr. Maradei is responsible for all engagement activities, voting and active ownership, ESG integration and reporting support and advice, as well as development and maintenance of the firm's responsible investment policies globally.
"(Mr. Maradei) brings invaluable knowledge and international experience to the team as we continue to strengthen our responsible investment credentials," Roelie van Wijk-Russchen, global head of responsible business and public affairs, said in a news release.
Mr. Maradei had been a senior investment officer at the European Investment Bank.
Aegon Asset Management had €315.6 billion ($360 billion) in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
