Wayne County system taps Reinhart Partners for $25 million small-cap portfolio

Wayne County Employees' Retirement System, Detroit, hired Reinhart Partners to run a $25 million small-cap equity portfolio, according board meeting minutes released Monday.

Following talks with investment consultant AndCo Consulting, the board recently reviewed the system's asset allocation and wanted to make changes to its investment managers and the overall structure of its current investment portfolio, according to the minutes of the March 29 board meeting.

A representative from the system could not be immediately reached for additional comment.

According to the P&I Research Center, the Wayne County system had $994 million in defined benefit assets and $457 million in defined contribution assets.
