Sonoma County Employees allocates $70 million to infrastructure

Sonoma County Employees' Retirement Association, Santa Rosa, Calif., committed up to $70 million to Axium Infrastructure U.S. Fund, which targets North American opportunities in energy, social infrastructure and transportation assets, confirmed Steven Marsh, senior investment officer.

It is the $2.8 billion pension fund's second overall infrastructure commitment, having previously committed $75 million to an open-end infrastructure fund managed by IFM Investors in 2015.

The commitment falls within the pension fund's real assets asset class, which currently has an actual allocation of 18%, Mr. Marsh said.
