Fort Worth (Texas) Employees' Retirement Fund's board of trustees voted to invest an additional $5 million to hedge fund Iguazu Partners, said Benita Falls Harper, interim executive director of the $2.3 billion pension fund, in an email.
The new investment follows the $25 million the pension fund has invested in Iguazu Partners since September 2012, Ms. Harper said.
Iguazu Partners is an absolute-return long/short hedge fund that seeks capital appreciation through investments in emerging markets debt and is managed by Wellington Hedge Management.
The pension fund allocated the additional money to meet the plan's diversification objectives, Ms. Harper said.
