Candriam adds global head of financial institutions and partnerships

Matthieu David was named global head of financial institutions and partnerships at Candriam Investors Group, a spokeswoman said.

The position is new. Effective April 1, Mr. David will coordinate the development of distribution activities for global financial institutions, aimed at increasing partnerships with leading global banks, insurance firms and distribution companies. He remains head of Candriam's Italian office.

"Global financial institutions and local partnerships are two fundamental layers of a sound and successful development strategy for asset managers," said Renato Guerriero, global head of distribution, in a news release. "(Mr. David) has been instrumental in the development of Candriam's Italian business, and we are confident that with his sound experience in this competitive market he will be successful in his new and broader role."

Candriam has about €115 billion ($130 billion) in assets under management.
