Of BlackRock's $6.5 trillion in assets under management the money manager reported Tuesday, $3.4 trillion is in equity strategies, with about $2 trillion in fixed-income strategies. While the firm's equity strategies, particularly its index products, top both AUM and revenue, fixed income has been a steadier earner, seeing positive earnings and asset growth in each 12-month period ended March 31 since 2011.
BlackRock's iShare's exchange-traded funds business made up about 29% of its total March 31 AUM; index products as a whole comprise 66% of total AUM.
