Brian Silverman was named senior vice president and head of separately managed accounts at Franklin Templeton Investments, said Madison Hanlon, spokeswoman.
It is a newly created position. Mr. Silverman will report to Pierre Caramazza, head of Franklin Templeton's U.S. financial institutions group and head of ETF distribution.
Mr. Silverman was director and separately managed account product manager at BlackRock. A BlackRock spokeswoman declined to comment.
