Carly Tripp was named chief investment officer of Nuveen's U.S. real estate investment portfolio, spokeswoman Caroline Baker said in an email.
It is a new position. Ms. Tripp, who started in March, reports to Chris McGibbon, head of U.S. real estate for Nuveen.
Ms. Tripp was previously managing director and global head of real estate and alternatives for TIAA-CREF's general account. TIAA is the parent company of Nuveen.
Nuveen's real estate business has about $125 billion in assets under management.
