Karsten Kallevig was named CIO for real estate at Norges Bank Investment Management, which manages the assets of Government Pension Fund Global, Oslo.
The position is new. Mr. Kallevig was previously CEO of Norges Bank Real Estate Management, which was integrated into NBIM on April 1. Mr. Kallevig is now a member of the fund's executive team and reports to NBIM CEO Yngve Slygnstad.
Mr. Kallevig joined NBIM in December 2015. His former position was eliminated as part of the integration, a spokeswoman confirmed.
Norway's sovereign wealth fund has 8.98 trillion Norwegian kroner ($1.04 trillion) in assets.
