Taryn Goodman is the new sector lead for food and agriculture at The Rise Fund, a private equity fund with an impact investing focus managed by TPG, according to a news release.
She replaces Joy Basu, who left the firm in 2018, said sources familiar with the situation.
Ms. Goodman will help find new investment opportunities, develop impact and sector strategies, and help expand the fund's focus on food and agriculture.
Ms. Goodman had served as a senior director at NatureVest, the investing unit of the non-profit Nature Conservancy.
TPG spokeswoman Courtney Power declined to comment beyond the news release.
