Barbara Rupf Bee was appointed head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Allianz Global Investors, a spokeswoman said.
Ms. Bee replaces Tobias Pross in the role May 15 and will lead AllianzGI's distribution function in the region.
The role has been covered by Mr. Pross since 2015, the spokeswoman confirmed. Mr. Pross worked in the role on an interim basis after he was named global head of distribution in April 2018.
"We are confident that (Ms. Bee), with her convincing track record at leading names in asset and wealth management in Switzerland, the U.K. and Germany, is joining us at exactly the right time," Mr. Pross said in a news release. "In a challenging market environment, she will help us to build on our proven strengths in client advisory and so demonstrate the value of active management to our clients."
Ms. Bee will join AllianzGI from UBS, where she heads wealth management in Germany.
AllianzGI had €354 billion ($405 billion) as of Dec. 31.
