Laurent Clavel was named head of research at AXA Investment Managers, a spokesman said.
The role is new. Mr. Clavel leads a staff of euro credit analysts and macroeconomists. His team develops fundamental research activities, new investment insights and thought leadership, as well as help to implement research views into AXA's investment processes.
Mr. Clavel was formerly head of macroeconomic research at AXA IM. There are no immediate plans to fill that position, the spokesman confirmed.
AXA IM had €730 billion ($835 billion) in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
