Ohio State Teachers assigns $225 million to private equity

Ohio State Teachers Retirement System, Columbus, made two new private equity commitments totaling up to $225 million, spokesman Nick Treneff said in an email.

The $76.2 billion pension fund committed $200 million to TSG 8, a growth equity fund managed by TSG Consumer Partners, and up to $25 million combined to Lightspeed China Partners IV and Lightspeed China Partners Select I, both China-focused venture capital funds managed by Lightspeed Venture Partners.

As of Jan. 31, the pension fund's actual allocation to private equity was 8.4%; the target is 7%.
