Paul LaCoursiere was named global head of environmental, social and governance research at Aviva Investors, a spokesman said in an email.
The position is new. Mr. LaCoursiere is responsible for the ESG research process, including the integration and monitoring of ESG criteria within equities and credit, and leading the research team with Mirza Baig, global head of governance.
"(Mr. LaCoursiere) has a wealth of experience in fund management, investment research and quantitative analytics, as well as established relationships with portfolio managers and analysts," said Steve Waygood, chief responsible investment officer, in a news release.
Mr. LaCoursiere was global head of corporate research at Aviva. Oliver Judd and Kevin Gaydos have been appointed co-heads of credit research, following Mr. LaCoursiere's appointment, the spokesman said.
Aviva Investors had £348 billion ($458 billion) in assets under management as of June 30.
