Just 11% of investment partners at private equity and venture capital firms in emerging markets are women, according to a study released Thursday by International Finance Corp., multiasset class and outsourced CIO firm Rock Creek Group and consulting firm Oliver Wyman.
Sixty-eight percent of private equity and venture capital firms in emerging markets are all male, 16% are male dominated, 15% are gender balanced and 1% are all female, the study shows.
However, 72% of limited partners surveyed believe that gender diversity is important or a top priority. The survey is based on 550 respondents from private equity firms.
