Bain & Co. named Satish Shankar as the firm's regional managing partner for the Asia-Pacific region, effective April 1.
Mr. Shankar will replace Dale Cottrell in the role. A Bain news release Wednesday said Mr. Cottrell will return to advising the firm's clients as part of the management-consulting firm's "servant leader model" of rotating partners regularly "into leadership roles and then back to client work." Mr. Cottrell served as regional managing partner for six years.
Mr. Shankar currently serves as managing partner for the firm's Southeast Asia business. A Bain spokesman said a replacement for the Southeast Asia leadership role has yet to be named.
Mr. Shankar will be based in Singapore.
