Kudu Investment Management, a New York-based a capital provider for asset and wealth management firms, has made a minority investment in Versus Capital Advisors, Kudu announced Monday.
Greenwood Village, Colo.-based real assets manager Versus Capital has about $4 billion across two funds: the Versus Capital Multi-Manager Real Estate Income Fund and Verus Capital Real Asset Fund. The firm's funds are utilized by independent registered investment advisers, private banks and regional consulting firms, according to a news release.
Kudu provides capital for management buyouts, acquisition and growth finance, generational ownership transfers, and liquidity for legacy partners, the news release said.
The size of Kudu's minority investment was not disclosed. The deal closed on March 1, a spokeswoman wrote in an email.
Under the deal, Kudu will provide strategic advice to Versus Capital as it further expands into the RIA channel.
The Versus Capital investment is the fifth investment that Kudu has made since securing $250 million in new capital commitments from investors in February 2018, the news release said.
