AP1, Stockholm, committed 300 million Swedish kronor ($32 million) to buyout fund Summa Equity II, said Jan Radberg, head of private equity at the 324 billion kronor pension fund, in an email.
Summa Equity II invests in companies that are advancing their work toward achieving the 2015 Paris Agreement's Sustainable Development Goals. "We have become very impressed by Summa's dedicated investment approach and hard work in helping smaller, rapidly growing, sustainable companies that are trying to address some of the challenges our society is facing with relation to resource scarcity, changing demographics and climate change," Mr. Radberg said.
"We are convinced that investments in sustainable companies will be increasingly important in our efforts in creating attractive long-term returns for our pensioners," Mr. Radberg said.
