Ohio School Employees Retirement System, Columbus, made two new investments in multiasset strategies totaling $105 million, said fund spokesman Tim Barbour in an email.
The $13.5 billion pension fund's board approved at its Feb. 22 board meeting investments of $55 million in BlackRock's hedge fund replication strategy and $50 million in Arrowstreet Capital's global long/short equity strategy. Funding comes from cash, and the investments are being allocated to the pension fund's multiasset strategies asset class.
As of Dec. 31, the actual allocation to multiasset strategies was 8.3%; the target is 10%.
