Sanford (Fla.) Police Officers' Pension Fund and Sanford Firefighters' Pension Fund are searching for a domestic midcap core equity manager to run a total of $5 million, said Susy Pita, pension plan administrator.
The pension funds have issued an RFP as a "fact-finding mission," Ms. Pita said, for the purposes of adding another equity manager to the funds' portfolios. There is currently no midcap equity manager, she said, and no managers will be terminated.
The selected manager would run $3 million for the $45 million police officers' pension fund and $2 million for the $30 million firefighters' pension fund.
The RFP is available on the website of Dahab Associates, the pension funds' investment consultant. Proposals are due at 5 p.m. EDT on April 22. A timeline for a decision has yet to be determined.
