Cook Children’s Health Care System recruits CIO from Columbia University

Tony Bagwell was named senior vice president and chief investment officer at Cook Children's Health Care System, Fort Worth, Texas, confirmed spokeswoman Kim Brown in an email.

He will join the organization in April, replacing interim CIO Eli Bloshtein, who filled in after CIO Patrick O'Connor left in late July. Information on Mr. Bloshtein's prior title and future duties were not available.

Mr. Bagwell was managing director at Columbia Investment Management Co., which oversees the New York-based Columbia University's $10.9 billion endowment. University spokesman Robert Hornsby could not be immediately reached for additional comment.

The health-care system oversees about $2 billion in foundation assets. Executive search firm David Barrett Partners assisted with the placement.
