Prudential Capital taps head of middle market energy mezzanine fund

Debra Hemsey has joined Prudential Capital Group has managing director of Prudential Capital's middle market energy mezzanine fund business, said Claire Currie, a spokeswoman for PGIM, Prudential Capital's parent firm in an email.

The position is new.

"Debra is not replacing anyone on the team. The business is adding more team members as they continue to invest Prudential Capital Energy Partners I," a $343 million energy mezzanine fund, Ms. Currie said.

Ms. Hemsey will help Prudential Capital make $10 million to $50 million mezzanine and equity investments in the North American electric power industry. She will report to Randall Kob, managing principal of the middle market energy mezzanine fund business.

Ms. Hemsey had been managing director at GE Energy Financial Services. GE spokeswoman Jaclyn Cochrane said she could not comment on employee matters. However, sources close to the situation said that Ms. Hemsey's responsibilities are being covered under a new organizational structure.
