Eduardo Guardia was named CEO of Brazilian money manager BTG Pactual Asset Management, effective July 1, a spokeswoman confirmed.
Mr. Guardia will replace Steve Jacobs, who will take on the role of executive chairman upon Mr. Guardia's arrival and will also responsible for parent company BTG Pactual Group's international investments, the news release said.
Mr. Guardia was most recently finance minister of Brazil in 2018 and executive secretary to the finance minister from 2016 to 2018.
BTG Pactual Asset Management has about $50 billion in assets under management.
