Harald Walkate was named head of corporate social responsibility and environmental, social and governance at Natixis Investment Managers, a spokesman said.
The role is new. Mr. Walkate will be responsible for corporate social responsibility globally and Natixis' ESG commitments across its distribution network, affiliate managers and initiatives, effective March 1.
"(Mr. Walkate's) appointment as our first head of corporate social responsibility and ESG demonstrates our ongoing commitment to drive initiatives that deliver long-term sustainable solutions for clients," Beverly Bearden, deputy CEO of Natixis Investment Managers, said in a news release.
Mr. Walkate worked at Aegon Asset Management, where he was a senior vice-president and global head of responsible investment. A spokesman could not immediately be reached to provide details of his replacement.
Natixis Investment Managers has €808 billion ($925 billion) in assets under management.
