Adrien Beuriot was named head of continental Europe asset management, real estate at Aviva Investors, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. Mr. Beuriot is responsible for developing an asset management platform across continental Europe and leading Aviva's teams in Paris and Frankfurt.
"(Mr. Beuriot) and his team will have a vital role as we focus on high-conviction investments in European cities with favorable long-term supply and demand characteristics," said Daniel McHugh, managing director, real estate investment, in a news release.
Mr. Beuriot was head of investments for France at BNP Paribas Real Estate Investment Management. A spokeswoman could not be reached to comment about a replacement.
Aviva Investors has £43 billion ($56 billion) in assets under management in real assets.
