Anadarko Petroleum Corp., The Woodlands, Texas, plans to contribute $155 million to its pension plans in 2019, the company disclosed Thursday in its 10-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The company plans to contribute $90 million to its funded plans and $43 million to its unfunded plans. Anadarko contributed a total of $244 million to its pension plans in 2018 and $254 million in 2017.
As of Dec. 31, pension plan assets totaled $1.31 billion, while projected benefit obligations totaled $1.95 billion, for a funding ratio of 67.5%, up from the previous year's funding ratio of 64.2%. The discount rate for 2018 was 4.3%, up from 3.62% in 2017.
