Hannah Skeates was named global head of environmental, social and governance at Wells Fargo Asset Management, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. Ms. Skeates is based in London and is responsible for creating and executing a unified ESG strategy throughout the firm.
"WFAM is focused on solving the most pressing challenges of our clients, and with the experience of (Ms. Skeates) we believe we are even better positioned to provide exceptional ESG expertise and solutions," said Fredrik Axsater, head of strategic business segments, in a news release.
Ms. Skeates was senior director for ESG indexes at S&P Dow Jones Indices. A spokesman could not be reached to comment about a replacement.
