Mike Weston was named CEO of LGPS Central, Wolverhampton, England, a spokesman said.
Mr. Weston will replace Andrew Warwick-Thompson in March. Mr. Warwick-Thompson stepped down from the £45 billion ($59 billion) local government pension scheme in December, the spokesman said. Details of his next appointment could not be learned immediately.
"(Mr. Weston) brings a wealth of understanding of investment management, occupational pension schemes and the LGPS," said Joanne Segars, chairwoman of LGPS Central, in a news release. "He joins at an exciting time for the company as our assets under management grow and will make a great contribution to developing the pool alongside our partner funds. I look forward to working with him."
Mr. Weston was CEO of Pensions Infrastructure Platform, an infrastructure investment manager for U.K. pension funds. He left in January and was replaced by Paula Burgess.
