Paul Sandhu joined BNP Paribas Asset Management in Hong Kong on Monday as head of multiasset quant solutions and client advisory Asia-Pacific.
The position is new. Mr. Sandhu reports to Anton Wouters, head of solutions and client advisory.
Mr. Sandhu oversees investment capabilities and solutions involving quant strategies that use artificial intelligence and other algorithmic approaches, incorporated in factor-based, outcome-oriented strategies, a spokesman said.
Mr. Sandhu comes to the firm from the Hong Kong office of Hartford, Conn.-based money manager Conning, where he served as managing director and head of investment solutions, a BNP Paribas news release said. A Conning spokeswoman couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
