Margareta Alestig Johnson was named acting managing director at AP6, Stockholm, Sweden, a spokesman said.
Ms. Johnson, deputy managing director, replaces Karl Swartling at the 31.6 billion Swedish kronor ($3.5 billion) pension fund effective March 1. Mr. Swartling "has accepted an offer (from) a well-respected player, but the new business has not been made public yet," the spokesman said.
Ms. Johnson will remain in the new role on a temporary basis until a managing director is recruited.
"For me and the board, it has been a privilege to work with (Mr.) Swartling who has professionally and successfully developed AP6 within the framework of the long-term strategy," Catrina Ingelstam, chairman of the board at AP6, said in a news release. "AP6 has a stable and competent organization which, during the recruitment of a new managing director, will be led by (Ms.) Johnson."
