Andrew Knell was named director, business development at Robeco, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. Mr. Knell is responsible for expanding Robeco's client base in the U.K., including insurers, public and corporate pension funds, and fiduciary managers.
"(Mr. Knell) brings a wealth of experience in several of our core capabilities, including quantitative and sustainability investing, and a strong network," said Peter Walsh, head of Robeco U.K., in a news release. "He joins Robeco U.K. at a particularly exciting time in our development following a year in which we announced several flagship U.K. pensions mandate wins."
Mr. Knell was senior vice president and senior investment strategist within the global equity division at Northern Trust Asset Management. Details of Mr. Knell's replacement were not available.
Robeco has £7 billion ($9.2 billion) in assets under management in the U.K.
