Hialeah, Fla., hired Nationwide Financial as sole record keeper of the city's $62 million 457 plan and $2 million 401(a) plan, City Council meeting minutes show.
The City Council approved the hiring at its Dec. 11 meeting, according to materials provided by Brigette Leal, administrative assistant in the city clerk's office. The city had issued an RFP in July to consolidate services to a single record keeper.
At that time, Nationwide was the record keeper of the 457 plan and ICMA-RC was the record keeper of the 401(a) plan. Whether ICMA-RC bid for the combined services could not be immediately learned.
