Brian O'Reilly was named head of market strategy at Mediolanum Asset Management, a spokeswoman said.
The position is new. Mr. O'Reilly manages the team responsible for asset allocation, formulates the firm's house view on investments and sits on the firm's investment committee. He reports to Christophe Jaubert, head of investment performance.

Mr. O'Reilly was previously head of investments and chief investment strategist at Irish money management and wealth management firm, Davy Group.
Mediolanum had €33 billion ($37 billion) in assets under management as of Dec. 31.
