Dania Beach (Fla.) Police & Fire Retirement System hired WEDGE Capital Management to run $8.5 million in active domestic core fixed income, Plan Administrator Cathy David said in an email.
The $50 million pension fund issued an RFP in August to "check other sources for fixed income," Ms. David said at the time. Incumbent manager Insight Investment was invited to rebid but did not.
Garcia Hamilton & Associates and Richmond Capital Management were the other finalists, according to Nov. 19 board meeting minutes.
Investment consultant Dahab Associates assisted.
