Mariken Tannemaat was named chief innovation officer at Robeco, effective Feb. 1, a spokesman said.
The position is new. Ms. Tannemaat will identify data and technology innovation that will support the firm's investments and distribution capabilities.
"(Ms. Tannemaat) has extensive experience in working on the client side of the business," said Gilbert Van Hassel, CEO of Robeco, in a news release. "We are confident that we have found a highly experienced professional, who will have a dedicated focus on driving innovation."
Ms. Tannemaat was chief innovation officer at NN Group. An NN spokesman said: "Given the importance, the chief innovation officer function is fulfilled on board level now. ... Tjeerd Bosklopper was appointed chief transformation officer and member of the management board."
Mr. Bosklopper is responsible for three areas: information technology, driving technological transformation and innovation, the spokesman said.
Robeco has €171 billion ($194 billion) in assets under management.
