Karen Roggenkamp was named deputy executive director at the $13.9 billion Ohio School Employees Retirement System, said Tim Barbour, pension fund spokesman.
She will join SERS on Jan. 28 and will report to Richard Stensrud, executive director of the Columbus-based pension fund.
Ms. Roggenkamp replaces Helen Ninos, who retired in August. General Counsel Joe Marotta had taken over the duties on an interim basis.
Ms. Roggenkamp was deputy executive director and chief operating officer at the Kentucky Retirement Systems, Frankfort. David Eager, KRS' executive director, said Rebeeca Adkins, the retirement system's division director, operations: enterprise and technology services, has taken over as interim deputy executive director and COO. He said there are no plans to search for a permanent replacement. KRS has $12.3 billion in assets across its five pension funds.
