Carina Spitzkopf was named director for private debt at Hermes Investment Management, a spokeswoman said.
The post is new. Ms. Spitzkopf will help to develop private debt capability by providing in-depth company analysis, due diligence and comprehensive financial modeling.
"(Ms. Spitzkopf) brings deep experience of the German small-medium enterprise loan market, which will be instrumental in our growth story this year, as we see ever-increasing deal flow coming out of Germany. Similarly, her understanding of structuring deals will be a valuable asset as we continue to grow our private debt platform and look to successfully tap the expanding opportunities in U.K. and European direct lending," Patrick Marshall, head of private debt and collateralized loan obligations at Hermes, said in a news release.
Ms. Spitzkopf previously worked at UBS, where she covered leveraged finance risk and portfolio management for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. A spokesman could not be reached to comment about a replacement.
Hermes Investment Management has £36 billion ($45.8 billion) in assets under management.
