Lee Wanie was named managing director, head of institutional sales in the U.S. at BMO Global Asset Management, spokeswoman Melissa Murphy confirmed in an email.
He replaced Mark Osterkamp, who became head of global institutional sales and marketing at Causeway Capital Management in July.
Mr. Wanie will be responsible for leading BMO GAM's U.S. institutional team and expanding its institutional sales strategy. He is based in Chicago and will report to Phillip Enochs, head of U.S. distribution and client management.
Mr. Wanie was a managing director at BlackRock. BlackRock spokesman Ed Sweeney could not be immediately reached for comment on his replacement.
BMO GAM had $248 billion in assets under management as of Oct. 31.
