Texas County & District Retirement System, Austin, committed $10 million to a private equity co-investment managed by EIV Capital, a transaction report showed.
In December 2016, investment officers of the $30 billion pension fund committed $40 million to EIV Capital Fund III, which provides financing to energy companies with a focus on midstream businesses and expanded natural gas uses.
Kathy Thrift, a TCDRS spokeswoman, said in an email the co-investment is not related to the pension fund's commitment to EIV Capital's third fund.
The private equity co-investment commitment is the pension fund's first to private equity in 2019. In 2018, TCDRS committed a total of $1.147 billion to 19 private equity and venture capital strategies, according to the transaction report.
